I am so happy that spring has finally sprung! The winter months are definitely NOT my favorite. The girls and I have been outside playing and walking around every day this week. Miss Ella loves the outdoors already. She gets a little spring in her step and is stopping to look at everything. I love just standing back and watching her.
This weekend, it is going to be raining, so I will be at my sewing machine every single second that I can be. Monday, I will have lots to show!
HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND EVERYBODY!!
I joined in on the "Sassy Apron" swap for round 2. It was a lot of fun the first time around! This is the apron I sent to my partner. I made it out of denim since she is partial to denim fabric. I added touches of spring with the green bows and the yellow pocket which has chicks and lambs on it. If you want to join, just click on the button on my sidebar and follow the directions. You can join until the 15th of April.
We had small group Bible study at our home this past Sunday. It was a full house with 10 adults and 16 kids! When we first joined the group, we had our meeting every other Sunday at 5:00 p.m., but now we are trying to meet earlier in the day. This is nicer for everyone and allows us to continue chatting about this and that without thinking about bed time being around the corner. The only bad thing is that it interferes with Ella's afternoon nap time. She wouldn't take a nap at noon for anything, so she zonked out in the living room. My dear hubby took some pillows from the sofa and covered her up with my doll quilt. That quilt was made over 30 years ago one Christmas when I told my Grandmother Ella that my dolly was cold and she needed a blanket. Granny Ella stayed up that night making the quilt for me and presented it to me the next morning. I remember being so happy and smiling. I cherish it with all my heart! I hesitate to let the girls play with it, but I know my Grandmother is looking down from heaven with a big smile on her face. This little quilt and others made by my Grandmother and Aunts are the reason I am in to quilting today. It is amazing how pieces of fabric sewn together can bring such joy and happiness. I want my girls to have this same feeling of being wrapped in love.
These are the fabric choices I have chosen to put on this block for the next border. I am excited about adding some red to it as was suggested by Margaret and Adrienne. I am going to be adding butterfiles to this as well. Please ignore the green background on the butterfly squares. I don't know what I was thinking and I didn't have the right type of eraser with me to erase the color. Regular erasers just don't work. I will probably use a white back ground.
