Red

I went out fabric shopping yesterday during my lunch hour.  I have been dealing with sick, clingy girlies the past few days and haven't been able to work on adding the borders to the two blocks.  I did purchase some red fabric to add to the blue and yellow already in the block.  I think it is going to look really nice. I have also been reading up on colors and blue, red and yellow have been grouped together in several of the articles I have been reading.   I think that I will add a thin strip of red all around the block and then come back around with another row incorporating various shades of blue and yellow solids.  If I can get the girlies to bed early enough, I am going to work on it tonight.

Help! What other colors can I add to this block?!

I am working on my RR block.  I need to add a border to it.  I am trying to figure out how to branch out and use other colors besides the blue and yellow already in it, but so far, nothing is coming to me and I can't find anything in my stash that I can use.  So after work today, I will be off to the fabric store to see what I can find.  I think I am going to add some applique flowers to it as well.  My goal is to have this block finished and in the mail by the end of next week so I need to get going on it!

**Please note that this block has an additonal dark blue border around the edge that was added after this photo was taken.

Winter Storm Warning

Today is such a beautiful day.  Cold, but sunny.  I love the sunshine!  It makes me feel much happier than cold, grey days.  Snow is only pretty on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.  So why is it that on the first day of spring, we have a winter storm warning with 4-6 inches of snow in the forecast? Ahhhh!  I suppose it will just make me value warmer spring and summer weather just that much more right?  LOL!

It's a Two Binky Type of Day!

As adults, we don't get to have a "two binkey" day, so we have to settle for sitting back and drinking some nice warm tea and curling up with our favorite blanket instead. Well, it is rainy and dreary outside today and I can't take much more of winter and living in the dark, so I need my own version of a "two binkey" day.  LOL!

Okay, I am off to try and decide what type of border to add to my Round Robin blocks. I'll post some ideas later!

I received this block from Nancy of With Thread in Hand who added the pretty border above.  She also added an additional border that isn't shown in this picture.  I am not sure who made the original block, but as soon as I find out, I will post it.  I will be adding the final 3" border to this one before sending it off to the next recipient.  I really like the blue and yellow together.  I am going to be making a quilt for my Dad's 70th birthday and I would like to incorporate some blues and golds in it.

This block was designed and pieced by Alicia of Lucy's Quilts.  Selene loves this block and is insisting on having one so she can have it made in to a pillow.  I must learn to paper piece this year!

Easter Pictures

The following pictures are my attempt at Easter pictures for family and friends.

Solana is trying to smile while keeping Ella seated....

Selene is looking devilish because she just said something to Solana that she didn't care for...

This is a pretty good one if I could just fix Solana's "fake" smile.  Do you think anyone would notice if I cropped her out?  LOL!

Let's try some individual shots.  Oops!  I chopped the top of her head off!!  ROFLOL!!

Quick!  She is sitting and she is still....  Better?

I think it would look nice set en pointe.
