Pay It Forward Craft Exchange

Pif_2

I was surfing through some newly discovered blogs the other day and found Crafty Carolina Girl taking part in the Pay It Forward Craft Exchange. I went straight to the comments section hoping that I wasn't too late. I was so happy when she emailed me back and told me that I was one of the lucky three.  I am so happy to be able to take part in this.  What a wonderful way to get to know more terrific crafty people!  Thanks Melissa!

Wondering what the PIF Craft Exchange is? Here are the details:

I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days, that is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog. If anyone is interested in joining in, I will send a handmade gift to the first three to leave a comment with their promise to pay it forward.

Pretty simple, huh? The first three people who leave me a comment and promise to pay it forward on their blog will receive a handmade gift from me. No restrictions on where you are located, so U.S. and International bloggers are invited to join in.

Also, if you have a preference on what type of gift you would like (ex. a crocheted toy, crocheted scarf, or softie) or if there is something I have made in the past you would like let me know. I'll see what I can do!

One thing, I probably won't be able to start the gifts until after the new year. But don't worry, you will definitely get your gift long before the 365 days are up!

So, what are you waiting for? Sign up and Pay It Forward!!!

Sleeping on the steps

Picture_501

Solana is our sweet child who CANNOT stay in her bed.  It is not unusual for her to get out of her bed and sleep in the hall outside my craft room.  This time she went downstairs to see her Daddy who says he gave her a kiss and sent her back to bed only to find out a few minutes later when he came to check on her that she had fallen asleep on the stairs.  He called me away from the sewing machine and we laughed, took her picture and put her back to bed.

I am so glad that I have the opportunity to document things like this for my girls.

Oh Christmas Tree! Oh Christmas Treeeeee!

We put up our Christmas tree Sunday night.  I love pulling out the ornaments and reminising about each one.  The girls were really excited to see how their collections of ornaments have grown over time.  My parents buy each of the grandkids an ornament every year.   As you can probably see by the picture above, Selene has become a little nutty like her Mommy and is now standing back from the tree to determine if the ornaments are placed just right.  LOL!

Photo Shoot for Christmas Cards

Picture_611

I have been attempting to get some good pictures of Ella to send out in the Christmas cards.  These days, Miss El runs every time Mommy gets close to her with the camera.  I just have to laugh....

Snowman Scarf

Take a look at the scarf I sent to Nicole in Afghanistan.  According to her Mom, she received it just in time because it is now snowing!

I crocheted the main part of the scarf with Lion Brand's Homespun in Candy Apple Red.  The snowman was made separately and then sewn on.  The white edging is just a simple bobble stitch.

Christmas Cards

Here is a shot of some of the Christmas cards I have made so far.  They will be going out in the within the next few days.  I have had a lot of fun using papers and supplies from my stash as well as a few new Basic Grey papers purchased a few weeks ago.
