How many days until Christmas????

Well, it is that crazy time of year again!  The countdown to Christmas begins!!  Tomorrow the girls will dress up in their costumes and run from door to door collecting all sorts of goodies from my parents neighbors and the next day which is November 1st begins the mad dash to finish several gift projects before Christmas.

I am trying to play it cool this year and not stress out over what I have to do.  I'll just make a small list an accomplish what I can.  You know, in between work, taking care of the girlies and the hubby, church activities and cheer/dance practices.  WOW!

Actually, I am rather excited by it all.  What could possibly go wrong?  I began making the quilts two years ago and this year I am determined to finish them.  I am in the process of taking pictures of them and will post those tomorrow.  Until then, here is a sweet picture of me with my new niece Kiara.  Isn't she sweet? It almost makes me want another.  Four is such a nice number.  Hey!  Will someone slap me back in to reality PLEASE!?!?  At this point, three is an even better number! LOL!!

Mama Sugar

This is a picture of my Grandmother and I at her 90th birthday celebration a few weeks ago.

We piled in a 15 passenger van and drove on down to Louisiana for the party.  It was 20+ hours of fun with my sister's family and mine.  The kids were great and the husbands did the driving.

I am so happy to be the granddaughter of such a fine Christian Southern woman.  My grandmother is still very active at 90 years old and I hope to be the same way at her age.  Here are a few things that she is known for:

*Being a devout Christian.  I can only hope to know the Lord as my grandmother does.  Something to aspire to.

*Always being willing to lend a hand to those in need.

*Being the church organist for over 60 years (maybe more)

*Always providing us with a good brunch of shrimp, bacon and toast with a popsicle and a coke afterwards.  I know it sounds fried and fattening, but considering the fact that Mama Sug is a health nut, we were happy with that as kids.  And now our kids enjoy the same.

*Mowing multiple lawns throughout the week.  This little woman can mow circles around anyone!  Even at 90 years old!

There is so much more to be said about her 90 years....

Mini Cheer and Mini Hip Hop Dance

The girls have been participating in cheer and dance this year.  They have practice every week a couple times a week.  More practice is needed closer to competitions.  Well, we attended our first competition last weekend in Columbus, OH.  It was a lot of fun!

Here are a couple of pictures of the girls wearing their medals.  Selene's team placed second.  They missed first place by only a couple of points. :(   Solana's team placed first.

We are proud of you girls!  Keep up the good work!!

Ella is ONE!

My baby girl turned one last month!  She is the happiest baby.  Ella is walking and crawling all over the place.  She says Mommy, Daddy, Ella, Granny, baby, bear, and a lot of other words.  I am really enjoying watching her little personality develop.  Here she is a little over a year ago...

I went in to labor on the evening of Labor Day last year.  We had some friends over for the day and I cooked and cleaned and ran around like nothing was going on.  My girlfriends kept asking me how I felt and I said "just fine" because I was "just fine."  Then at about 10:00 p.m., I started feeling rather anxious, my labor had just begun.  I let my hubby sleep a while and I buzzed around the house straightening, putting a few more things in my bag and trying to relax my mind.  When I couldn't take it any longer, I called the hubby and then my Mom and off we went.  We dropped the girls off at my sisters house and then went on to the hospital.  Labor was upon me hard and fast.  WOW!  A little over and hour and a half later, Ella was here!  We were so happy!  Another little girl to love.  We are truly blessed!
